| Bailey Excels, But Argonauts Win | The Reno Rockets got a superb performance from center fielder Ray Bailey, but the Astoria Argonauts still won the game, 9-7. Bailey was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Astoria now sits in last place in the TMLAAA Cito Gaston League at 37-62.
Ryan Crawford had a big run-scoring single for the Argonauts in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Astoria leading 6-5 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Lourenço Russa and stroked the single to center. It was his 84th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Argonauts ahead, 7-5.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Crawford, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
