| Late Rally by Bombers Secures Win | The South Carolina Bombers stopped the Portland Beavers, 4-3, at Waterfront Park. The Bombers got a big game from Sean Musick, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Sandy Ponce picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Quan Que was tagged with the loss. Bruce Berardi locked down his 1st save.
Musick had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Quan Que, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Bombers a 4-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Musick.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Musick.
The win brings the Bombers to 8-16, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
