The Bears got a big at-bat from second baseman Pete Farthing. For the game, Farthing was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 60th hit of the season gave Birmingham a 6-5 lead.
