| Stogies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hornets | The Havana Stogies defeated the Eureka Hornets, 6-3, at The Humidor today. Leading the charge for Havana was right fielder Yeow-whye Jing. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Havana reliever Felipe Arreola picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-1. Willie Fierro was collared with the loss. The Hornets fall to 12-12 and continue their uneasy start to the 2038 season.
Jing had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 1-0 sinker from Willie Fierro, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Stogies a 6-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Jing.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson.
