| Cats Get Past Vancouver for 5-4 Win | The Fort Worth Cats defeated the Vancouver Canadians, 5-4, in RCL AAA action at LaGrave Field, with Fort Worth pitcher Jim Currie named player of the game. Fort Worth reliever Bob Campos picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Carlos Carballo took the loss. Fort Worth improves to 57-36 with the win. They lead their division by 7½ games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Fort Worth left fielder Al Nichol, facing Carlos Carballo, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cats the 5-4 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Nichol said.
