The Reno Raiders grabbed a 5-4 win over the Minneapolis Freeze at The Ice Box. Reno left fielder Wei-qiang Ju was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 2 walks to earn player of the game honors. The 5th-place Raiders lifted their record to 40-50.
The Raiders got a big at-bat from catcher Gene Reilley. For the game, Reilley was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Reno a 5-4 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Ju told the Reno Daily News.
