| Flash Roll Over Sphinx, 9-4 | The Fairfield Flash grabbed a 9-4 win over the Cairo Sphinx at Pharaoh's Temple. Fairfield left fielder Willie Hayes was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times to earn player of the game honors. Fairfield reliever Bernard Coste was the winner. His record is now 5-3. Prabodh Nimbalkar took the loss. The Flash bumped their record to 51-40 with this latest triumph.
The Flash got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jon Dibling. For the game, Dibling went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Fairfield a 1-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Hayes told the Fairfield Herald.
