| Lloyd, Joplin Prevail in Pitchers' Duel | The Joplin Fireballs topped the Candiac Redbirds, 2-0, in TMLAAA action at Municipal Stadium. The player of the game was Joplin pitcher and Repentigny, Canada native Bobby Lloyd. The Fireballs now own a record of 40-48.
Lloyd ran roughshod over the Candiac lineup. The left-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 8. With the victory, he goes to 6-5 on the season.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Lloyd told the Joplin News.
