| Cacti Prevail, 5-4, Over Canton | Albuquerque Cacti starter Manuel Pena was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Canton Paczkis, 5-4. The winning pitcher was Pena, now 2-8. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. The 4th-place Cacti are now 41-49, the Paczkis 47-42.
Jared Howard's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning was a big one for Albuquerque. Coming to bat with no one out, the bases loaded and Albuquerque leading 3-2, the first baseman hit a 2-run single.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Howard told the Albuquerque Citizen.
