| Baristas Walk Off with Win | Silver Lake Baristas starter Kyuji Aoki was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Birmingham Bears, 5-4. Silver Lake reliever Rickey Turner picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Daniel Farley was saddled with the loss. The Baristas bumped their record to 51-37 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Silver Lake pinch hitter Sterling Maroney, facing Nobuhiko Newton, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Baristas the 5-4 win.
"We had a good game plan," Aoki said, "and we were able to execute it."
