| Dominant Performance by Sands in Birmingham Win | The Birmingham Bears extended their winning streak at Ashton Gate.
In a well-pitched game between the Birmingham Bears and the Silver Lake Baristas, pitcher Damien Sands was superb. The Birmingham left-hander was named the player of the game in Birmingham's 1-0 win. Daniel Farley converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Sands was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 2-3. In 8 innings of work, Sands gave up no earned runs on 1 hit, while striking out 7. The Baristas were never able to generate much offense.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Birmingham manager António Álvarez.
