Death Stars Need Extras to Top Raiders

Detroit designated hitter Tomas Robles was instrumental in his team's 8-6 win over the Reno Raiders. Robles, who is tied for 9th in the TAAA in extra base hits with 31, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Death Stars. Detroit goes to 50-35. The win puts them 9 games up in their division.

Detroit used the clutch hitting of Willis Ortiz to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to give the Death Stars the lead, 8-6. For the game, Ortiz had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Ortiz.
