| Pioneers Lose to G.o.D., 7-4 | Tonga and Vancouver duked it out at Isle of Destiny and the G.o.D. came out victorious.
Nick Corpus was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Vancouver Pioneers. The shortstop was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Tonga G.o.D.. Tonga reliever Justin Davidov picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Nobutoshi Katayama shouldered the loss.
Corpus had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count cutter from Nobutoshi Katayama, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the G.o.D. a 7-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Corpus.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Corpus told reporters after the game.
The Pioneers fall to 9-16 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2038 season.
