The Coal Miners got a fine performance from third baseman Steve John, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Coal Miners, at 51-34, have now won 6 straight.
Antioch used the bat of Esteban Herrera to get the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Coal Miners ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
