Baristas Win in Extras

Fans who congregated at Durham Bulls Athletic Park were treated to extra-inning drama.

Dale Beeler helped his team muscle past the Fairfield Flash, 8-5. In the game, the Silver Lake first baseman went 2-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Silver Lake reliever John Robinson was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Leland Bullins took the loss for Fairfield.

One important at-bat for Silver Lake came with two out in the top of the tenth inning. With the bases loaded, Beeler hit a 2-run double, which contributed to the Baristas win.

"It was terrific getting this win," Beeler said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."

With the win, the Baristas have a record of 46-36.
