| Bumblebees Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Pasadena Bumblebees and Detroit Death Stars completed their game despite the rain.
The Pasadena Bumblebees bested the Detroit Death Stars, 5-3, at The Death Star. Rafael Gómez was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Bumblebees, at 40-43, sit in second place in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
Gómez had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from Juan Bernal, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Bumblebees a 5-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Gómez.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Detroit manager Edgardo Gonzáles. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
