Freeze Come Back Late to Top Redbirds

The Candiac Redbirds got a superb performance from third baseman Aaron Tarter. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Minneapolis. The Freeze won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, Tarter was named the player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Minneapolis reliever Jesus Espinoza picked up the win, upping his record to 4-6. Hulusi Mumcu was saddled with the loss. Candiac's current losing streak is now 5 games.

The Freeze were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Reece Wager turned a 1-1 curveball from Hulusi Mumcu into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Minneapolis a thrilling 8-7 win.

"This place was jumping at the end," Wager said.
