| Sphinx Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Sphinx faced a stiff challenge from Bowling Green pitcher Jim Shelby, but persevered to claim a win at Top of the Hill. The final score was 6-2. Shelby went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Cairo reliever William MacDougal picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Atsuya Suda was saddled with the loss. Bowling Green's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Sphinx got a big at-bat from catcher Tadahisa Iwamoto. For the game, Iwamoto went 2-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 78th hit of the season gave Cairo a 3-2 lead.
