Tanaka Helps Phantoms Run Win Streak to 5

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Coronado Phantoms powered past the Candiac Redbirds, 8-0, at Municipal Stadium. Kuniaki Tanaka went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4, to lead the charge. The last-place Phantoms have won 5 consecutive games.

Tanaka had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Phantoms went on to win.

In postgame comments to the Coronado Today, Tanaka said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
