| Aeropostales Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win | Detroit got a terrific performance from pitcher Ramón Gómez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Indian Wells won the The Death Star contest, 3-2. Gómez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Indian Wells reliever Yonetoshi Morikawa was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Yukihiro Nakamoto. Indian Wells is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from shortstop Justin Olson. For the game, Olson was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. In the top of the 11th, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 63rd hit of the season gave Indian Wells a 3-2 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Indian Wells manager Mario Perez.
