| Rockets Lose, 6-4, at Foothills Stadium | Reno got a terrific game from first baseman Héctor García. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Calgary, 6-4. García was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ramon Martinez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 16 save opportunities. The Kodiaks bumped their record to 45-34 with this latest triumph.
John Thompson aided the Calgary cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Thompson told the Calgary News.
