| Sphinx Get Past Reno for 3-2 Win | Cairo Sphinx starter Julio Rivera was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Reno Raiders, 3-2. Balamitra Sriramesh picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Gabe Perkins was tagged with the loss. Cairo occupies third place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division at 46-36.
Had Shunso Kichida not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Kichida hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sphinx.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Reno manager Ralph Oakes.
