| Flash Beat Caterpillars in 11 | Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Excavatar Park.
The Fairfield Flash took Peoria pitcher Tony Rivera's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Excavatar Park. The final score had Fairfield getting past the Caterpillars, 5-3. Rivera went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 4. Eduardo Fuentez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Dennis Winkowski was tagged with the loss.
The Flash got a big at-bat from designated hitter Senta Nakano. For the game, Nakano was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the 11th, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Fairfield a 4-3 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Nakano.
The Flash bumped their record to 44-33 with this latest triumph.
