| Canadians Solve Freeze, 4-2 | The Vancouver Canadians picked up a win at The Ice Box, knocking off the Minneapolis Freeze, 4-2. Starting pitcher John Gayden was an essential part of his team's success. Gayden went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 3-10. Cai-fei Men notched his 4th save in 9 chances.
Early in the game, third baseman Ed Mathias had a 2-run double for Vancouver. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Canadians on top, 2-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Gayden told a Vancouver News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
