| Whatley Slams 5 Hits for Detroit | Detroit first baseman Chris Whatley had a day to remember today, 5-for-6 against the Calgary Kodiaks at Foothills Stadium as the Death Stars picked up a 12-5 victory.
"He was patient up there today," Detroit skipper Edgardo Gonzáles told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Whatley has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
