The Bronx Bombers scored a 3-2 win versus the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. Bronx pitcher Lodewijk van de Wetering nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Roger Montgomery notched his 3rd save in 6 chances. The Bombers bumped their record to 41-30 with this latest triumph.

Alejandro Nolasco aided the Bronx cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bronx skipper Glen Slaughter.
