| Big Day by Maynard Ignites Raiders Win | The Reno Raiders beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 7-4, at House of Pain. The Raiders got a fine performance from first baseman Chris Maynard, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Mal Goff earned the win to go to 6-5. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Diego Contreras was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 16 save opportunities.
John MacLeod drew 1 walk for Reno. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tony Colunga. It was his 18th walk of the season.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Maynard.
The second-place Raiders improved to 31-36.
