| Armada Get Close Win Over Pioneers | Benefiting from Kichisaburo Tanaka's productive game, the Quebec Armada downed the Vancouver Pioneers, 4-3. Tanaka was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Armada. Juan Amaya recorded his 4th save for Quebec. The Pioneers fall to 9-15 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2038 season.
Tanaka had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 cutter from Willard Stady, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Armada a 4-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Tanaka.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tanaka said.
