| Death Stars Bang Out 9-3 Win Versus Astoria | Detroit and Astoria took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Detroit left fielder Brian Meisner made his presence felt in the 9-3 Death Stars triumph over the Astoria Argonauts. Meisner went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Sergio Solis went 5 innings for Detroit to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 earned runs. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Yukihiro Nakamoto converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
Meisner was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 against the Argonauts. With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Detroit in front, 4-3.
