| Multi-HR Game for Sutton in 6-5 Win | The Maple Marauders dealt the Midland Rockhounds a 6-5 loss at Legends Park. Jesse Sutton was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Maple reliever Hideaki Nakayama picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Andy Mendoza was collared with the loss. Minoru Aoki finished the game for Maple and earned his 5th save.
Had Ryan Agee not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Agee hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Marauders.
"We played hard and won," said Sutton. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The win takes Maple to 13-10.
