| Sphinx Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Vancouver | George Guinn was instrumental in his team's 6-3 triumph over the Vancouver Canadians. The first baseman went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Cairo Sphinx. The winner was Cairo reliever Garth Daniels, now 3-0. The loser was Tommy Brereton. William MacDougal converted his 8th save in 11 tries.
Tadahisa Iwamoto drew 1 walk for Cairo. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tommy Brereton. It was his 21st walk of the season.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Anthony Weinstein. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
The 5th-place Canadians have lost 7 consecutive games.
