| Sphinx Bang Out 11-7 Win Versus Birmingham | The Birmingham Bears and Cairo Sphinx were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Edgbaston.
The Cairo Sphinx topped the Birmingham Bears by the score of 11-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder John Johnson. Johnson went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Sphinx on the day. The Sphinx bumped their record to 35-34 with this latest triumph.
Reynaldo Aguilera aided the Cairo cause with a 2-run double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
"I like winning," Aguilera told the Cairo Gazette. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
