| Cats Lose 5-1 Decision to Paczkis | Canton rode a fine outing from starter Steve Steenburg to victory over the Fort Worth Cats at Mckinley Park. The final score was 5-1. Steenburg, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Tomoyuki Kiyomizu notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
The Paczkis got a big at-bat from first baseman Dallas Fugate. For the game, Fugate went 1 for 2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Canton a 1-0 lead.
"Steve was pounding the zone," said Canton manager Brian Moore.
The Paczkis bumped their record to 34-31 with this latest triumph.
