Racers Come Back Late to Clip Baristas

Silver Lake got a terrific performance from designated hitter Sergio Cervantez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bowling Green Racers. Bowling Green won the Ashton Gate contest, 7-6. Cervantez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 2 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI. Atsuya Suda converted his 12th save in 14 tries. The Racers bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.

Terry Merritt chipped in for Bowling Green with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bowling Green manager Jorge Gonzáles.
