| Freeze Get Close Win Over Fireballs | Minneapolis center fielder Luis Gonzáles had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Joplin Fireballs, 6-3. Minneapolis reliever Ferdinand Bevan was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Jason Graves took the loss for Joplin. Minneapolis is in 4th place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division with a record of 24-33.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Reece Wager. For the game, Wager was 1 for 1 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Minneapolis a 4-3 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Gonzáles told reporters after the game.
