| Fireballs Bridle Redbirds, 3-2 | The Joplin Fireballs eked out a 3-2 win versus the Candiac Redbirds at The Firepit. Nobody did more than pitcher Dave McCrudden, who captured player of the game honors. With the win, the Fireballs improved to 22-33.
Had Abraham Merez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Merez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Fireballs.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McCrudden told the Joplin News.
