Harris Sensational for Death Stars

Fans who gathered at The Ice Box saw a good contest between the Detroit Death Stars and Minneapolis Freeze.

The Detroit Death Stars picked up a win at The Ice Box, knocking off the Minneapolis Freeze, 1-0. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Ron Harris, who played a pivotal role in the win. Ben Bower earned the save for Detroit, his 10th of the year.

Harris, a native of Great Falls, Virginia, was dealing all game. He kept Minneapolis hitters off-balance, while giving the Death Stars 8 quality innings. Harris threw 104 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

"We take it day by day here," said Harris, "and today was a good one for us."

Detroit is now 33-20, 8 games up in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
