| Bumblebees Need Extra Frames to Get Past Death Stars | The Pasadena Bumblebees topped the Detroit Death Stars, 6-2, in TMLAAA action at The Death Star. The player of the game was Pasadena pitcher Wilson Robles. Pasadena reliever David Benitez was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Juan Bernal took the loss. With the win, Pasadena goes to 39-42, while the Death Stars fall to 47-33.
Pasadena used the clutch hitting of Willie Rivera to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Bumblebees the lead, 3-2. For the game, Rivera had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rivera told the Pasadena Herald. "It's as simple as that."
