| Bears Continue Skid Thanks to Miller, Rockets | The Reno Rockets defeated the Birmingham Bears, 9-4, at Edgbaston today. Leading the charge for Reno was left fielder Matt Miller. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Lance Crumpton earned the win for Reno. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 3-5. José Toro converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Miller had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Rockets went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Miller told a Reno Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Rockets, at 22-33, have now won 4 straight.
