| Pioneers Rally to Eke Out Win | The Pioneers grabbed a win, 4-3, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, overcoming a fine effort from Quebec pitcher Sergio García. García went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Armada, at 6-16, have stumbled out of the gate.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Colin Carpenter. For the game, Carpenter was 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. In the bottom of the 13th, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Vancouver a 4-3 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Carpenter said.
