| Rockets Score Late to Upend Bears, 9-5 | Reno and Birmingham got after it at Edgbaston.
The Reno Rockets knocked off the Birmingham Bears, 9-5, at Edgbaston. Darren Michels, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Reno won. The shortstop went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reno has 3 straight wins, Birmingham 3 straight losses.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from first baseman Antonio Fandino. For the game, Fandino was 1 for 5 with a double. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Reno a 6-5 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Fandino told the Reno Times.
