| Victory Pushes Kodiaks Record to 27-25 | The Calgary Kodiaks knocked off the Astoria Argonauts, 7-5, at Foothills Stadium. Bobby Quinonez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Calgary won. The center fielder went 1 for 1 with 3 walks and was hit by a pitch. Ramon Martinez finished the game for Calgary and earned his 8th save. The Argonauts, now 17-34, have lost 5 straight.
Carlos Orozco aided the Calgary cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder drove in 2 runs.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Quinonez told a Calgary News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
