| Rockhounds Win at Maple, 8-6 | The inspired effort of Maple first baseman Shunso Fukuda was not enough to prevent a 8-6 loss to the Midland Rockhounds. Fukuda went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Midland, now 13-8, has gotten their season off to a good start.
It could have been a different outcome for Midland, had it not been for Zhong-shu Chuang, the 25-year old third baseman . Chuang contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Midland up, 7-6.
Chuang told a Midland Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
