Cats Squelch Phantoms Offense in Shutout Win

The Fort Worth Cats topped the Coronado Phantoms, 3-0, with right fielder Tim Sorrells playing a big role. Sorrells went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles for the Cats in the win. Fort Worth reliever Bobby Saxon picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Francisco Zúñiga took the loss. The Cats have an impressive 33-20 record.

The Cats got a big at-bat from third baseman Glenn Sternlicht. For the game, Sternlicht went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 57th hit of the season gave Fort Worth a 1-0 lead.

Sorrells told a Fort Worth Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
