| Mustangs Stun Racers, 4-3 | The Billings Mustangs did just enough to sneak past the Bowling Green Racers, 4-3, at Top of the Hill. Billings pitcher John Curnew earned player of the game honors. Curnew went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-3. Lex Herrewijn earned the save, his 2nd.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Ross Stephenson. For the game, Stephenson went 1-1, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 40th hit of the season gave Billings a 4-3 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bowling Green manager Jorge Gonzáles. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Mustangs bumped their record to 33-18 with this latest triumph.
