| Big Day by Bramel Ignites Caterpillars Win | The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 8-6, at Stars Field. Peoria second baseman Chris Bramel earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Peoria reliever Bob Reel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Toshikasu Yoshida shouldered the loss. Picking up the save was Freddy Aguilar, his 10th.
Peoria used the clutch hitting of Chris Phillips to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Caterpillars the lead, 4-3. For the game, Phillips had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Bramel told the Peoria Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Caterpillars bumped their record to 25-24 with this latest triumph.
