| Bears Turn Back Bumblebees, 4-2 | The Birmingham Bears and Pasadena Bumblebees played an exciting game at The Hole.
The Bears faced a stiff challenge from Pasadena pitcher Miguel García, but persevered to claim a win at The Hole. The final score was 4-2. García went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Birmingham reliever Francisco Palazuelos picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Miguel García shouldered the loss. Jim Clemons closed the game out for Birmingham, earning his 1st save.
The Bears got a big at-bat from shortstop Harlan Sanderson. For the game, Sanderson went 1-4. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 48th hit of the season gave Birmingham a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Birmingham manager António Álvarez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Bears raised their record to 24-25.
