| Hot Start Continues for Tornadoes | The Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 5-4, in Thurman Munson League action at Debris Field, with Kansas City third baseman Armando Galdos named player of the game. Kansas City reliever Will Taylor picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Enrique Galván took the loss. Nate Miller was credited with the save for Kansas City, his 8th of the season.
The Tornadoes got a big at-bat from right fielder Lane Renouf. For the game, Renouf was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 38th hit of the season gave Kansas City a 5-4 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Renouf said after the game.
Kansas City, now 16-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
