| Hornets Lose to Pioneers in Walk Off | The Vancouver Pioneers defeated the Eureka Hornets, 5-4, in Thurman Munson League action at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, with Vancouver pitcher Richard Amezquita named player of the game. Vancouver reliever Nobutoshi Katayama picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Willie Fierro took the loss. The Pioneers, with just their 7th win so far in 2038, have yet to catch fire.
Orlando González chipped in for Vancouver with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Amezquita said after the game.
