Fans who gathered at The Ice Box saw a good contest between the Minneapolis Freeze and Candiac Redbirds.

The Minneapolis Freeze defeated the Candiac Redbirds, 4-2, in Darryl Kile League action at The Ice Box, with Minneapolis right fielder Ken Simpson named player of the game. Even with the win, the Freeze have a dismal 12-24 record.

Early in the game, Simpson had a grand slam home run for Minneapolis. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Freeze on top, 4-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Simpson.
